🌿 Review: Plant Growth

Week 14 — Friday | Plant Growth Process

📖 Reading Time

This week we watched seeds grow from tiny specks into small plants. We learned about the plant life cycle: seed, germination, sprout, seedling, mature plant, and then flowers and seeds again.

We also did an experiment. We planted seeds in two cups. One sat in the sun and one sat in the dark. The plant in the sun grew tall and green. The plant in the dark stayed short and pale. This shows that plants really do need sunlight to grow strong.

Plants need three main things to grow: water, sunlight, and good soil. Water helps the seeds soak and sprout. Sunlight gives the plant energy to make food. Soil gives the plant nutrients and holds the roots in place. When a plant gets all three, it grows tall and healthy!

✏️ Reading Questions

1. Name the stages of the plant life cycle in order.

2. What happened to the plant in the dark cup?

3. Name the three things plants need to grow.

4. Why did we use two cups in our experiment? Explain.

📝 Vocabulary Grid

Write a definition for each word.

🔍 True or False — Circle Your Answer

1. A seed has a baby plant inside it.

2. Plants in the dark grow as tall as plants in the sun.

3. Soil gives plants nutrients to help them grow.

4. A seedling is bigger than a mature plant.

5. The plant life cycle starts over when new seeds are made.

6. Plants only need water to grow.

🔍 Sequence Cards

Number each sentence from 1 (first) to 6 (last).
