"What was it like to be a kid in ancient Egypt? Most families lived in small houses made of mud bricks — mud from the Nile mixed with straw and dried in the hot sun. The flat roofs were great places to sleep on hot nights!",
"Fathers often worked as farmers, fishermen, or builders. Mothers cared for the home, baked bread, and wove cloth. Kids helped too — feeding animals, fetching water, and scaring birds away from the crops.",
"The most important food was bread, baked from wheat. Egyptians also ate fish from the Nile, beans, onions, cucumbers, dates, and melons. Honey made treats sweet. Most people ate with their fingers — no forks!"
