<p>As the years passed, the colonies grew. Small forts became busy towns with dirt roads, wooden houses, churches, and shops. Most colonial families lived on <strong>farms</strong> outside of town.</p>
<p>There was no electricity, no cars, and no grocery stores! Families grew their own food, made their own clothes, and cooked over a fire. Everyone in the family had jobs to do — even the kids.</p>
<p>Colonial life was busy from sunrise to sunset. But it was not all work. Children played with marbles, hoops, and homemade dolls. Neighbors helped each other build barns and shared big harvest meals. This week you will discover what a colonial day was really like!</p>
