🧳 Why Do People Move?

📖 Reading Time

Long ago, colonists crossed the ocean for land, money, and freedom. Guess what? People still move for reasons like these today!

Maybe your family has moved to a new house, a new town, or even a new country. Families move for new jobs, to be near grandparents, or to find a safer place to live. Moving can feel exciting and a little scary — just like it did for the colonists.

When people move somewhere new, they bring their favorite foods, songs, games, and stories with them. That is one way our country became a home for people from all over the world. Every family who moves adds something special to their new community.
