💪 Standing Up for Your People

Week 21 • Thursday • Sitting Bull, Wilma Mankiller, and You

📖 Reading Time

Sitting Bull was a Lakota leader known for great courage and wisdom. When his people's land and way of life were threatened, he stood strong and refused to give up what mattered most. He said, 'Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.'

Long after, in 1985, Wilma Mankiller became the first woman Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. She built health clinics, brought clean water to villages, and showed that leadership means helping your community every single day.

Standing up for others isn't just for famous chiefs. When you defend a friend, speak up about unfairness, or help someone in need — you are leading too.
