🦁 Heroes and Monsters

Week 7 • Tuesday • Heracles and the Great Quests

📖 Reading Time

Greek myths were full of brave heroes who went on amazing adventures called quests. The most famous hero was Heracles (you might know his Roman name, Hercules). He was the strongest man in the world!

Heracles had to finish twelve almost-impossible jobs called the Twelve Labors. He wrestled a lion with skin no sword could cut. He battled the Hydra, a swamp monster with many snake heads — and every time one head was cut off, two grew back! He even had to clean a giant stable in a single day, which he did by moving a whole river through it.

Other heroes had quests too: Perseus faced Medusa, whose gaze turned people to stone, and clever Odysseus sailed for ten years trying to get home. Greek heroes teach us that courage and clever thinking can beat even the biggest problems.
