<p>Pack your bags — we are sailing from Egypt across the sea to a new land: <strong>ancient Greece</strong>! Greece is in Europe, on the edge of the blue <strong>Mediterranean Sea</strong>. About 2,500 years ago, it was home to one of the most amazing civilizations ever.</p>
<p>Greece looks very different from flat, sandy Egypt. Greece is covered in rocky <strong>mountains</strong>! It also has hundreds of <strong>islands</strong> — pieces of land with water all around them — scattered across the sparkling sea.</p>
<p>The mountains made travel by land very hard, and the rocky soil was tough for farming. So the Greeks turned to the sea! They became expert sailors, fishing and trading in fast wooden ships. Wherever you stand in Greece, the sea is never far away.</p>
