# Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia)

## Overview
Deciduous/semi-deciduous, highly resistant to Dutch elm disease and Elm Leaf Beetle. Attractive exfoliating bark in gray/green/orange/brown. Dark green shiny leaves turn yellowish-reddish purple in fall. Popular for bonsai — high pruning tolerance. Native to N. China, Korea, Japan. One of the hardest elms.
