$3.12

Sugar Beets seeds — sweet, tender heirloom beets perfect for fresh eating, roasting & juicing. Open-pollinated variety with excellent flavor. Easy to grow in most climates & soil types.

Overview:
A robust, open-pollinated variety of sugar beet prized for its high sugar content and versatility! This cool-season crop produces large, white-fleshed roots, typically 2–3 pounds, with sweet, earthy flavor. Ideal for home gardens, sugar production, or livestock feed.
Growing Instructions:

Sowing: Plant in early spring or late summer for a fall harvest, as sugar beets thrive in cooler weather. Sow seeds ½” deep in well-drained soil, spacing 2–3″ apart in rows 18–24″ apart. Thin seedlings to 4–6″ apart when 2–3″ tall. Prefers pH levels of 6.0–7.5.
Germination: 5–10 days at 50–75°F.

Care:
Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer 4–6 weeks after planting to promote root growth. Remove any flower stalks to focus energy on root development.

Harvest:
90–120 days from sowing. Harvest when roots are 2–4″ in diameter, typically in late fall. Dig carefully to avoid damaging roots. Leaves are edible and can be harvested earlier.
