Animal Habitats: Where Animals Live

Week 17 • Monday • Life Science

📖 Reading Time

A habitat is the place where an animal lives. A habitat gives an animal food, water, and shelter. Every animal has a habitat that fits its needs.

Forests have many trees. Deer, owls, and squirrels live in forests. They find nuts, leaves, and small animals to eat.

Deserts are hot and dry. Camels and lizards live there. They can live with very little water.

The ocean is a big, salty water habitat. Fish, whales, and crabs live in the ocean. They are made for life in water.

The Arctic is icy and cold. Polar bears and seals live there. Their thick fur and fat keep them warm.

Grasslands are open and covered with grass. Zebras and lions live in grasslands. There is lots of grass for animals to eat.
