This week we learned about habitats. A habitat is where an animal lives. It gives the animal food, water, and shelter.
We learned about five habitats. Forests are full of trees. Deserts are hot and dry. Oceans are big and salty. The Arctic is icy and cold. Grasslands are wide open and grassy.
Animals fit their habitats. A fish has fins to swim in water. A camel can go days without water in the desert. A polar bear has thick fur for the cold. Each animal lives where its body works best!
