You did it! You planned an experiment, took care of your plants, measured them, and made a graph. There is one last job for a scientist: writing a report. A science report tells other people what you did and what you learned.
A good report has four parts. First, the question — what did you want to find out? Ours was: "What do plants need to grow?" Second, the method — what did you do? We gave some plants water and light, and took those things away from others. Third, the results — what happened? We saw that plants without water or light did not grow well. Fourth, the conclusion — what did you learn? Plants need sunlight, water, and air to live and grow!
When scientists share reports, other scientists can learn from them — and even try the experiment themselves. Sharing what we learn is one of the most important parts of science.
