🌸 Leaves and Flowers

Week 13 — Monday | Parts of a Plant

📖 Reading Time

Last week we learned about roots and stems. This week we will learn about two more plant parts. They are leaves and flowers.

Leaves are the plant's food makers. Leaves catch sunlight. They use sunlight, water, and air to make food for the plant. This is why most leaves are flat and wide. A flat leaf can catch lots of sunlight! Leaves come in many shapes. Some are round, some are pointy, and some look like needles.

Flowers have a different job. Flowers make seeds. Seeds can grow into new plants. Many flowers are bright and smell sweet. This helps them attract bees and butterflies. Attract means to bring something closer. The bees help the flowers make their seeds. Flowers come in many colors, like red, yellow, and purple.
