Matter Unit Review

Week 10 • Friday • Fall Quarter Review • Name: ______________________

📖 Reading Time

You have learned so much this quarter! Let's remember it all. Everything around you is made of matter.

Matter has properties. Properties tell us what matter is like. Some properties are color, size, shape, and texture. Some matter is hard. Some matter is soft. Some matter bends, and some breaks.

Objects are made from materials. Wood, metal, plastic, glass, and cloth are materials. We pick materials because of their properties. A window is glass because glass is clear. A blanket is cloth because cloth is soft.

Matter comes in three states: solid, liquid, and gas. Solids keep their shape. Liquids flow and take the shape of their container. Gases spread out to fill space. Heat can change matter from one state to another.
