Solids have three things we can count:
• Faces — the flat sides
• Edges — where two faces meet
• Vertices — the pointy corners
A cube has 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertices. Grab a dice or a block and touch each one as you count!
Estimate First! Before counting, GUESS how many faces each solid has. Then count with a real object if you can.
