Short vowels are the sounds a, e, i, o, u make in one-syllable words. Read each word carefully -- the vowel says its SHORT sound.
Grammar: A sentence is a group of words that makes a complete thought. It starts with a capital letter and ends with punctuation.

Grammar: What Is a Sentence?

A sentence is a group of words that makes a complete thought.
Every sentence starts with a CAPITAL LETTER and ends with a PERIOD (.), QUESTION MARK (?), or EXCLAMATION POINT (!).

Example: The kitten is playing.
Not a sentence: kitten playing. ×
